Last Saturday of the Month - that means it's Farmers' Market day. And, although a bit cold, it was a beautiful morning for a walk to town centre. I managed to pick up some good Aberdeen Angus beef (a roast and a couple of steaks), some chicken, some good pork steaks, carrots, onions, and bread (from the bakery across the street). Not too bad, but nothing like the summer months when produce is in season. In total, I spent about £23 - and in meat alone, I got enough for 12 meals. Add to that the carrots, onions and bread, and I think I did pretty well. However, I was once again disappointed that the ostrich man wasn't there. Maybe next month.
The market is open from 9.00 - 13.00. I got there at about 11.30 and must have missed the morning crowd.
From across the street
Just over the road, the bakery I visit on a fairly regular basis - nothing like fresh bread
It's such a small store front that if you get 3 people in the shop, you can't move
Gingerbread whales and shortbread ducks. I avoided the sweets and left with my loaf of bread.
The local coffee shop - great coffee, poor wi-fi
